Marc J. Strauss

Admitted to the bar in 1979, Marc was in private practice in Chicago and Sycamore. In addition, he has in-house experience in Rockford as General Counsel for First Midwest Group and Lucky Street Gaming. He also has business experience at the COO and CEO level within those businesses, as well as The Streider Group. He has managed law firms, construction, engineering, lease administration, real estate maintenance, accounting, human resources, and finance.

Marc holds several degrees from Northwestern University, including a B.A. attained in 1975, M.B.A. in 1976, and J.D. (cum laude) in 1979. Marc is a member of the DeKalb County Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association. He is a past Chair of the Northern Illinois University Board of Trustees and a past member of several hospital Boards of Directors, including Northwestern Medicine West Region, Kish Health Systems, and Northwestern Health network, following prior leadership service with numerous other community and professional organizations.

He focuses his practice on commercial real estate; real estate development (including zoning, annexations, construction, acquisitions/dispositions, leasing, condominium and cooperative documentation and management, easements and covenants, and property management); real estate and other secured finance and work-outs; the laws applicable to all types of business entities (including LLCs, corporations, and partnerships); gaming; municipal law; and estate planning, probate, and trusts.
